Week 30 Life is like a jalapeno

Hi, This weeks been crazy, but here's a few highlights.

Saturday my dad and I helped clean the church. Half way through, the vacuum stopped working. We had to find a different outlet to work which took a few. Do we quickly give up or do we keep trying until we finish? Later when at the temple laundry, I sorted dirty clothes with a sister I've seen in initiatory. We found a temple recommend, m&ms and a comb in 2 men's pants pocket. It also seemed like they had a lot more shoes then usual.

Sunday I met with the sisters. It seems it's been a hard week for all. Sister F shared 'Approaching the Throne of God with Confidence' (Oct. 2014) by Elder Jörg Klebingat. I loved it because he talks about the lies the adversary tries to tell us because he knows we are striving to become closer to our Savior along with ways to "restore to you the kind of peaceful assurance and spiritual confidence that is yours to have if you only want it". I highly encourage you to read it!

Monday Sister Andrus decided to eat half a small jalapeno to help her sinuses. After about an hour she said the spiciness went away and her sinuses were empty. Then it got compared to life. Sometimes life is hard but when you push through and learn, you get better from the experience.

Scripture thought: Alma 26:12 Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.

I'm thankful for the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. I know if we turn to it daily, it will help us with our challenges.
