Week 68 Perfection is Pending

Hello!

Tuesday we pulled weeds at the temple.

Wednesday during our mission counsel the part I liked was from 1st Samuel 16-18. Samuel was commanded to find who the Lord had chosen to be the next king. David was chosen, and immediately David went into battle. Due to his small stature, his armor did not fit and he battled with five stones and a sling. Today, we are going through a lot of things that on the outside looks strange, similar to what all people thought about young David. But the Lord's point of view is different as he sees our potential and the potential of what a pandemic can do for us. We also went over a new service mission pamphlet. In it "Perfection is Pending" -Pres. Nelson. I also studied the new restoration that came out during general conference again and that was a good reminder.

Friday I got to go inside another temple because a family member got sealed. It was nice to be back for a short time.
Monday (today) was Come, Follow Me for companionship study. I liked Alma 36:27. If you want to, you can take the time to read it. :)

Scripture:

Mormon 8:16 And blessed be he that shall bring this thing to light; for it shall be brought out of darkness unto light, according to the word of God; yea, it shall be brought out of the earth, and it shall shine forth out of darkness, and come unto the knowledge of the people; and it shall be done by the power of God.

Hope you're all doing well!

Week 67 Having A Desire to Act

Hey again!

Tuesday at the temple we continued working on the bottom portion of the gate to get the bad paint off. I'm hoping this Tuesday we can paint a little.

Institute notes: -If Christ is willing to forgive us many times, maybe we should be willing to forgive others more. -A lot of people judged Christ (He who is perfect).

Friday sister Snider and I sorted cans all morning. For a second I thought we may also do produce but we just moved a box into a different location and marked it unsorted then went back to cans.

Monday (today) when doing Come, Follow Me (companion study) I liked what the sister shared: How do we plant the seed (of faith)? We have to have the desire, enough of a desire that we act

Scripture thought:

3 Ne. 11:3...and it was not a harsh voice, neither was it a loud voice; nevertheless, and notwithstanding it being a small voice it did pierce them that did hear to the center, insomuch that there was no part of their frame that it did not cause to quake; yea, it did pierce them to the very soul, and did cause their hearts to burn. 6 And behold, the third time they did understand the voice which they heard; and it said unto them: 7 Behold my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, in whom I have glorified my name—hear ye him.

Hope you have a good week!

Week 66 Effort Brings Rewards

Hello again!

During institute we talked a lot about the Savior and his role in the atonement and suffering so He can help us with our struggles. In John 13, Christ cleans the feet of the apostles. When he does he gets the dirt on himself because he is the one cleaning, He does it so He can understand us. He understands all of our situations and does not compare them one with another.

Saturday with the missionaries we talked about how we have self control. We get to choose our attitude and commitment with the Lord. For me, I have been working on finishing the Book of Mormon by a certain day. I have been slacking but recently decided I need to work hard if I'm going to do that. As I've been working more towards it I've felt excitement and more peace even though I've just been reading more in the last few days.

Scripture thought:

3 Ne. 5:26 And then shall they know their Redeemer, who is Jesus Christ, the Son of God; and then shall they be gathered in from the four quarters of the earth unto their own lands, from whence they have been dispersed; yea, as the Lord liveth so shall it be. Amen.

Hope you all have a good week!

Week 64 Chiggers Bugs

Hey all!

Tuesday at the temple grounds 2 sisters and I went to clean off the bottom portion of the gate around the fence that had water damage so it can be repainted. I thought I saw spiders on them but a sister said they are actually chiggers which are similar to ticks. That freaked me out a little.

Thursdays institute: How does Christ refer to His father to us? Father and friend. (Luke 11:5-13) He will work with us as long as we are trying. Effort needs to be on both parts.

Friday at the food pantry we helped with putting food into carts and lining them up for when people come to pick up groceries so they will be ready. Then we bagged food for another thing (can't remember what they go to).

Scripture: Alma 61:14 Therefore, my beloved brother, Moroni, let us resist evil, and whatsoever evil we cannot resist with our words, yea, such as rebellions and dissensions, let us resist them with our swords, that we may retain our freedom, that we may rejoice in the great privilege of our church, and in the cause of our Redeemer and our God.

Hope your keeping healthy!

Week 63 The name tag is back!

Hello everyone!

Wednesday I was able to find records to index on family search, sometimes I can't find any. That was fun. In the evening we had our mission district council with all our Elders and Sisters. When our mission leaders shared their testimony of Christ that helped me a lot. Christ did what no one else could. He lived in mortality, conquered every pain and all suffering and bled for you. He performed the atonement. Then He resurrected 3 days later. I'm thankful for Him. & I like that she said I'm sometimes amazed that I know that.

Friday was my first day back to any mission assignments in 3 months. Sister Snider and I sorted food at the food pantry then helped tape and move the last of the 800 boxes onto their final pallet to give to 800 people in quarantine later. It was exciting to see another missionary in person again and to be wearing my name tag even if it's only once or twice a week for now.

Scripture thought:

Alma 58:10 Therefore we did pour out our souls in prayer to God, that he would strengthen us and deliver us out of the hands of our enemies, yea, and also give us strength that we might retain our cities, and our lands, and our possessions, for the support of our people.11 Yea, and it came to pass that the Lord our God did visit us with assurances that he would deliver us; yea, insomuch that he did speak peace to our souls, and did grant unto us great faith, and did cause us that we should hope for our deliverance in him.

Happy Father's Day Weekend!

Week 62 Secret Prayer

Hi everyone!

Wednesday my family went on a scavenger hunt to the cemetery to find headstones for pictures for family search research. That was an adventure! We had our sisters district council in the evening which was nice. One part from one of the songs I like is 'When sailing on life's stormy sea, 'Mid billows of despair, 'Tis solace to my soul to know God hears my secret prayer.

Institute: The gospel provides every type of bread. (Physical, spiritual etc) Everlasting life is through Him, He is the bread of life.

Scripture:

Alma 50:22 And those who were faithful in keeping the commandments of the Lord were delivered at all times, whilst thousands of their wicked brethren have been consigned to bondage, or to perish by the sword, or to dwindle in unbelief, and mingle with the Lamanites.

Week 61 True Believers in Christ

Hey!

During institute we talked about 2nd Kings 5:10 and 14. A leper asked how he could become clean to Elisha, and Elisha sent a messenger who said, go wash into Jordan 7 times. No more, no less and you will become clean. So he went and did that and became clean.

We also talked about fishing. We are not responsible for the fish we catch, but we are responsible for throwing our rod into the water. You sometimes have to be patient and have faith that the Lord will bless your efforts.

Scripture thought:

Alma 46:14 For thus were all the true believers of Christ, who belonged to the church of God, called by those who did not belong to the church. 15 And those who did belong to the church were faithful; yea, all those who were true believers in Christ took upon them, gladly, the name of Christ, or Christians as they were called, because of their belief in Christ who should come.

Hope you all have a good week!

Week 60 Christ is the source of Joy

Hey all!

I conducted the first sisters district counsel. I was a little nervous at first but half way through the nerves went away do to it being a small group.

Institute notes: Nourish the things in your life that you want to grow and continue. And a question to think about: what changes do I need to make to have the Holy Ghost more in my life? As you pray for help, He will guide you.

Scripture thought:

Alma 41:3 And it is requisite with the justice of God that men should be judged according to their works; and if their works were good in this life, and the desires of their hearts were good, that they should also, at the last day, be restored unto that which is good.

All good things come from God. We are able to restart, have hope, keep going, have real and everlasting joy, keep trying, because of Him. Because the Savior performed the atonement. Our Father wants us to have joy, so He gave His only begotten Son to help us find joy in our life no matter the circumstances. As we keep our focus on Jesus Christ, we can find that everlasting joy.

Hope you all have a good week!

Week 59 Trust in Him

Hello!

Just like proselytizing missionaries have leaders and district leaders, they created a district and assigned leaders for our south missionaries. I got called as the first sister leader for the south side of the mission. I'm thankful for the opportunity to further God's work in this new way.

During institute we discussed Luke 7:36-50. Jesus went to eat with a pharisee. A woman who was a sinner knew that was going to happen, so she brought an expensive oil and went to Him to clean His feet. She didn't have anything, so she used her hair and tears. The pharisee got confused. Christ explained that the woman had nothing and still came and cleaned his feet with her tears and hair, and the pharisee gave Christ no water. She did what she could. I liked that because Christ doesn't compare what we have to offer, he takes what we have and meets us there.

Scripture:

Alma 36:27 And I have been supported under trials and troubles of every kind, yea, and in all manner of afflictions; yea, God has delivered me from prison, and from bonds, and from death; yea, and I do put my trust in him, and he will still deliver me.

I know He is always there to help us whether it is sickness, losing a loved one or a different struggle. The Lord knows them all.

Happy Memorial Day!

Week 58 The Lord Loves Effort

Hi again!

If I haven't already shared, our mission has split again. We now are the Cache Valley North or South Service Missionaries. I'm part of South along with 11 other missionaries.

A little from Come, Follow Me towards the end, "Even though they had repented of their sins, Alma and his people still found themselves in bondage. Their experience shows that trusting the Lord and living our covenants doesn't always prevent difficulties, but it does help us overcome them."

This week I worked on patience in Preach My Gospel (Christ's attributes). This week I keep thinking about how in General Conference the prophet told the kids The Lord Loves Effort! I noticed as I was more patient with my family in different things, I felt more of His love. As I got frustrated with a puzzle I'm working on, I kept thinking the Lord loves effort, so as I really tried to be patient and look closer for them I found the pieces I was looking for. I'm thankful for His help throughout the week of trying to be better with patience and coming closer to Him.

Scripture thought:

Alma 32:37 And behold, as the tree beginneth to grow, ye will say: Let us nourish it with great care, that it may get root, that it may grow up, and bring forth fruit unto us. And now behold, if ye nourish it with much care it will get root, and grow up, and bring forth fruit. 38 But if ye neglect the tree, and take no thought for its nourishment, behold it will not get any root; and when the heat of the sun cometh and scorcheth it, because it hath no root it withers away, and ye pluck it up and cast it out.

Hope you all have a good week!

Week 57 The Lord Comforts Us

Hey everyone!

Institute started back up so here's some notes: Jesus Christ had many roles during His 33 years. -The church is not a country club for Saints, but a hospital for sinners. Colin Douglas -All things center in, revolve around, are anchored to, and are built upon the atoning sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. McConkie.

Sisters shared: D&C 121:7 My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;

My scripture:

Alma 26:27 Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success.

President Heber J. Grant, the seventh President of the Church, and his counselors, Presidents J. Reuben Clark Jr. and David O. McKay, declared:

"Motherhood, is near to divinity. It is the highest, holiest service to be assumed by mankind. It places her who honors its holy calling and service next to the angels." Happy Mothers Day weekend!

Hope your all doing well!

Week 56 Springs here

Hey everyone!

This week we have been spring cleaning and finishing up most of the puzzles.

We are getting new service mission leaders and our current leaders are getting released to work in the temple. A few notes from the short mission meeting Sunday evening: There is thousands of ways to serve. -Many are called, but few are chosen to wear His name tag in black. New mission leaders  -You are taking a less traveled road but it will make all the difference. Cherringtons I will miss them!

Sisters scripture: 3rd Ne. 10:10..and their mourning was turned into joy, and their lamentations into the praise and thanksgiving unto the Lord Jesus Christ, their Redeemer.

Scripture:

Alma 22:15...What shall I do that I may have this eternal life of which thou hast spoken? Yea, what shall I do that I may be born of God, having this wicked spirit rooted out of my breast, and receive his Spirit, that I may be filled with joy, that I may not be cast off at the last day? Behold, said he, I will give up all that I possess, yea, I will forsake my kingdom, that I may receive this great joy. I know when we give things up to come closer to Him He recognizes our efforts and we will feel of His joy.

Have a good week!

Week 55 The two greatest commandments

Hello all!

Institute: This week we finished institute. "Undergirding all of this is our relentless hope for the greater devotion to the two greatest of all commandment to love God by keeping his counsel and to love our neighbors by showing kindness and compassion, patients and forgiveness..." We must continue to have hope through all things. Through the pain, through the suffering, through the sin, through the swallowing darkness. We must continue to believe in spite of every reason why we should not. "We did not come this far to only come this far...ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope and a love of God and all men..if ye shall saith the Father: ye shall have eternal life." Elder Holland

Proselytizing sisters scripture: Enos 1:8 And he said unto me: Because of thy faith in Christ, whom thou hast never before heard nor seen. And many years pass away before he shall manifest himself in the flesh; wherefore, go to, thy faith hath made thee whole.

Weekly scripture thought:

Alma 14:26...How long shall we suffer these great afflictions, O Lord? O Lord, give us strength according to our faith which is in Christ, even unto deliverance. And they broke the cords with which they were bound; and when the people saw this, they began to flee, for the fear of destruction had come upon them.

Hope you are all doing well!

Week 54 Puzzles galore

Hello again! This week we have been slowly working on more puzzles and I finished 1/3 institute classes.

Notes from institute:
  1. Our faith in Jesus Christ builds upon itself, experience after experience, feeling after feeling, confirmation after confirmation.
  2. The Holy Ghost is often described as the still, small voice. The voice is something we feel more than a sound we hear. We cannot force the Spirit; we must await it's coming. We can however develop the climate that invites the Spirit.

Mission meeting: We had our mission meeting Sunday night and we did testimonies through a video chat. I haven't shared my testimony since I was probably 17 when I earned my yw medallion. I shared how thankful I am for the priesthood in my home. To be able to have the sacrament at home and to feel of His Spirit during that. I'm thankful that I shared it even if it was just by voice rather then typing it out.

Scripture:

Alma 9:26 And not many days hence the Son of God shall come in his glory; and his glory shall be the glory of the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace, equity, and truth, full of patience, mercy, and long-suffering, quick to hear the cries of his people and to answer their prayers.

Hope you all have a good day!

Week 53 He Is Risen

Hello all!

This week was walks, online institute and puzzles.

When video calling the missionaries they shared: 2 Nephi 9:52 and 2 Nephi 2:24 But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things. 25 Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy. He knew that COVID-19 would happen at this time, and that we would be stuck inside. He also knew that we could handle it. He knows how we feel, and as we turn to him we can find joy.

Spiritual thought: "No words in Christendom mean more to me than those spoken by the angel to the weeping Mary Magdalene and the other Mary as they approached the tomb to care for the body of their Lord: “Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen.” (Luke 24:5–6.) With this pronouncement, the “lost battalion” of mankind—those who have lived and died, those who now live and one day will die, and those yet to be born and yet to die—this battalion of humanity lost had just been rescued. Of him who delivered each of us from endless death, I testify he is a teacher of truth—but he is more than a teacher. He is the exemplar of the perfect life—but he is more than an exemplar. He is the great physician—but he is more than a physician. He who rescued the “lost battalion” of mankind is the literal Savior of the world, the Son of God, the Prince of Peace, the Holy One of Israel, even the risen Lord, who declared, “I am the first and the last; I am he who liveth, I am he who was slain; I am your advocate with the Father.” (D&C 110:4.)
(Lost Battalions, Thomas S Monson 1971)

Hope no one is dying of boredom!

Week 52 One Year

Hello all,

Nothing ton happened this week. I did a 500 piece puzzle with my sister, did more family oriented things, worked on institute, cleaned and organized a little and that was pretty much it. Thursday I hit my year mark of getting set apart and we all had the big general conference which is the most exciting things of the week.

From institute: Things to always remember about Christ when partaking of the sacrament: Premortal life, miracles, teachings, help, delight in life, told others to be of good Cheer. '...troubled, distressed, perplexed but not despair, persecuted not forsaken, cast down not destroyed.' 2nd Cor. 4:8-9

Conference notes: -Joseph Smith didn't have answers immediately. Ballard -The atonement is a free gift to all. When was the last time you felt the Saviors atoning sacrifice for you? Causse -The Lord needs everyone, God knows all situations. Cook -Faith, Truth, Testimony. How do YOU Hear Him? Prophet

Scripture thought: Mosiah 24:12 And Alma and his people did not raise their voices to the Lord their God, but did pour out their hearts to him; and he did know the thoughts of their hearts.13 And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came to them in their afflictions, saying: Lift up your heads and be of good comfort...14 And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people.

Hope your all doing well!

Week 51 Hear Him

Hello!

Tuesday institute was the talk on the children thinking the skunk was a black cat with a white stripe and how satan is using tools to try to make us think things are different then they are. He is the great deceiver.

Wednesday I called a few family members and interviewed them for family search.

Friday Ashlee and I walked around the temple. Also from institute: -Do a thorough life assessment with the Lord. -Put aside many worldly things, and if you do sincerely the Holy Ghost will guide you. As we honestly listen during prayers, we will know what to do.

Scripture thought: Joseph Smith-History 1:16...—just at this moment of great alarm, I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me. 17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!

General conference is next week and we have been encouraged to study Joseph Smith before conference. As I have, I've felt a bigger gratitude for him and the restored gospel. That is one of my families favorite verses.

Hope you aren't dying of boredom yet!

Week 50 Happily Quarantined

Hello, this week all my assignments were closed so I tried to stay busy at home.

Tuesday I organized my pictures for my scrapbook.

Wednesday I did a little family search with my grandparents.

Thursday I did online institute. Talked about the liberty jail and how there was a time even Joseph Smith asked, where are you during this difficult time? D&C 121:7 My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;. Our challenges will eventually be solved or go away. But until then try to learn from what your going through.

Friday I finished labeling my scrapbook up to current.

Saturday I video called the sisters. We shared Mosiah 23:21-22, Alma 18:32 and mine was Mosiah 18:3 And as many as would hear his word he did teach... If you have an open mind and heart, He will teach you.

Scripture thought: Mosiah 18:29 And this he said unto them, having been commanded of God; and they did walk uprightly before God, imparting to one another both temporally and spiritually according to their needs and their wants.

Hope your all doing well!

Week 49 Listening to Our Personal Tutor

Hello again!

Tuesday from institute: -You won't find this process in any manual. The Holy Ghost will be your personal tutor as you seek to understand what the Lord would have you know and do. This process is neither quick nor easy......Consecrate your life to the Lord. (Spiritual Treasures by Pres. Nelson) -We need to understand the fall to fully understand the atonement.

Wednesday this history center was a little busy but good.

Thursday the session at the temple was super tiny and initiatory was a little busier. I think we beat the rush.

Friday we restocked the shelves up front. That was my first time doing that. :)

Scripture thought: Mosiah 7:19 Therefore, lift up your heads, and rejoice, and put your trust in God, in that God who was the God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob; and also, that God who brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, and caused that they should walk through the Red Sea on dry ground, and fed them with manna that they might not perish in the wilderness; and many more things did he do for them.

Hope your all keeping healthy!

Week 48 The Saviors Childlike Love

Hi!

Tuesday Sister Pierson, Godwin and I cut out paper people.

Thursday the session was good and my grandma Gill and I did sealings again for my 3rd time which was nice.
Friday we did kids meals again. We had a few more volunteers which made it a little more fun. I met with the proselytizing sisters later and liked Helaman 5:12.

Saturday I helped with a little of everything in the laundry. I talked with an older sister about service missions and kind of trained another with a few basic stuff.

Sundays talk, Heavenly Father sees the bigger picture and knows what he's doing. With questions and answers,
D&C9:8...studied out in your mind,...and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right. 9 But if it be not right you shall have no such feelings, but you shall have a stupor of thought that shall cause you to forget the thing which is wrong;. He puts us in situations when they are needed. Even though it can be hard, try to have faith in Him.

Scripture thought: Mosiah 3:19..unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father. (the title came from this scripture.)

Hope you all have a good week!

Week 47 Faith is an Uncommon Action

Hello!

Tuesday we sanitized and dusted office rooms then helped with a project at the family place.

Wednesday went really well. I indexed marriage certificates, helped someone with correcting spelling errors with something she's been working on, and saw a sister I haven't seen in a while and helped her with family search.
Thursday the session was good and initiatory was super busy.

Friday Sister Mason, Snider and I did kids meals. I also met with the proselytizing sisters later, they shared 1st Ne. 17:50 and Mosiah 4:9. Sister Peace shared Faith is an uncommon action meaning, when we have faith we do things that aren't necessarily viewed as "ordinary". For example, Joseph Smith demonstrated uncommon action when he really pondered the scriptures and took the time to find answers for himself at only 14 years old. With General Conference coming up, I invite you all to start listening to the Joseph Smith podcasts and Joseph Smith History.

Saturday I sorted dirty endowment clothes, I haven't done that in a while so it was a good refresher.

Scripture thought:

Omni 1:25...in all things which are good; for there is nothing which is good save it comes from the Lord: and that which is evil cometh from the devil. 26...Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved.

Hope you're all staying healthy!

Week 46 Valentine hearts and Candy fish

Hello friends and family,

Tuesday Sister Godwin, Pierson and I cut out paper hearts for a late valentine's project for kids.

Wednesday I helped a lady with printing out names to take to the temple.

Thursday from institute: Baptisms is the only ordinance/covenant we can practice repeatedly for ourselves by partaking of the sacrament and being reminded of those covenants.

Friday we bagged organic candy fish. We had 2 volunteers besides the missionaries which was fun.

Saturday my family went to the Idaho Falls temple for a quick family trip.

Scripture thought:

Jacob 4:13...for the Spirit speaketh the truth and lieth not. Wherefore, it speaketh of things as they really are, and of things as they really will be; wherefore, these things are manifested unto us plainly, for the salvation of our souls. But behold, we are not witnesses alone in these things; for God also spake them unto prophets of old.

As I've been listening to conference talks daily, I know the speakers are called of God. I'm thankful for the enlightenment that the Holy Ghost can bring.

Hope you all have a good week!

Week 45 Recognizing The Holy Ghost

Hi All!

Tuesday from institute:
  1. We shouldn't be trying to recognize the Holy Ghost when it comes. We should be recognizing what happens when it leaves, and get rid of what makes it leave.
  2. He didn't ask for perfection, but to do our best.

Wednesday I started by shadowing and along with another staff member helped a guy with family search. He was trying to find the family of a guy he wanted to do proxy work for.

Thursday the Brigham temple was very good. The session was smaller than I expected it to be. Thankful I got to go to that temple this past week.

Friday two sisters and I went through 2-3 pallets of hygiene. I met with the proselytizing sisters later, we talked about how Christ changes our weaknesses into strengths.

Sunday from mission meeting:

Sister C
-You pack "things" from good influences you meet into your suitcases (life).
-Who have you met in the scriptures? You will meet Christ again and again in the Book of Mormon.

Elder C -The Book of Mormon is prophets testimonies (reminder).

Scripture thought:

2nd Ne. 32:9 But behold, I say unto you that ye must pray always, and not faint; that ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord save in the first place ye shall pray unto the Father in the name of Christ, that he will consecrate thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the welfare of thy soul.

I have noticed that when I pray before doing things, I have had his help and hopefully been able to help others through His will.

Hope you have a good week!

Week 44 For the Temple is a Good Place

Hello again!

Tuesday at institute I learned some new things about repentance and what the temple means. D&C 94:1 is about creating a foundation.

Thursday at institute we talked about change. The doctrine never changes, but the way it gets taught does. In the evening the temple was good, there was an extra special feeling towards the end of the session.

Friday the food pantry was normal, we had a little extra help from an older guy which was nice.

Saturday the temple laundry was surprisingly slow. I had help from an ordinance worker, she is a convert to our church (baptized 10 years ago). On the laundry office window someone wrote "For the temple is a good place." All good things come from God, I've heard that many times. In the evening my sister and I did baptisms. It was busier than it was expected it to be. It was really nice to be back there. I talked to another girl who is my age, we both got a feeling to ask each other if we've considered missions. She served in Bolivia. It's cool we were both in tune to talk. Baptisms was a good reminder of how important the basics are.

Scripture thought: 2nd Ne. 22:2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation.

Hope your all doing well!

Week 43 Lord, I Would Follow Thee

Hello All!

Tuesday Sister Godwin and I organized sweaters and books. Seeing all the books reminded me that the world was created for us and He made things for us to have joy. Thankful for the little thought.
Wednesday in prayer meeting (at the family history center) I really liked "Even the best technology can never be a substitute for revelation from heaven...This is a spiritual work, and the Lord directs it through His holy spirit."-? I helped a guy transfer VHS tapes to CDs and his wife showed me some fun animal pictures from their Africa trip. I was also able to help a guy with indexing.
Thursday the temple was slow.

Friday the sisters and I sorted toilet paper, paper towels and then fruit.

Saturday I met with the sisters and we discussed our favorite words in the hymn, "Lord, I would follow thee". My favorite line is 'Pause to help and lift another, Finding strength beyond my own'. We also read Alma 11:44 and Moroni 10:3.
Sunday in church, someone shared 2nd Ne. 33:6 Nephi says "...I glory in my Jesus..." He knows who his Savior is. He's not this random guy, or a part of the air/fluff, but He is someone that is personal, and who loves us. That is very true.

Scripture thought: 2nd Ne. 9:50 Come, my brethren, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters; and he that hath no money, come buy and eat; yea, come buy wine and milk without money and without price.
He wants us to Come Unto Him and expects nothing in return. He loves us and wants us to be filled with joy.

Week 42 If Any Lack Wisdom, Ask Of God

Hi everyone!

Wednesday I got some help with some names I'm working on from family search. The proselytizing missionaries were an hour late for their lessons so it was nice and quiet for a bit. We did have someone come in and we were able to answer questions.

Thursday at institute, we talked about being anchored and sharing our testimony, and I don't share mine enough. I shared when being a primary teacher, I was reminded by a testimony that the young men passing around the sacrament are representing Christ and they are acting as Christ would. The session was even bigger in the evening.
Friday I sorted a few cans and did kids meals with the other service missionaries.

Saturday the laundry was slower than it has been which was nice.

Sunday at a devotional: -The Book of Mormon is full of answers, but you won't get an answer if you don't have a question. -Ask questions, Seek answers in scriptures, Knock/Kneel (pray) (ASK). -Sometimes you need to not give an answer so others can do it their way. -When you get a prompting, write it down, then go through with it. -He may not tell you so you can have experience.

Scripture thought: 2 Ne. 2:26 And the Messiah cometh in the fulness of time, that he may redeem the children of men from the fall. And because that they are redeemed from the fall they have become free forever, knowing good from evil; to act for themselves and not to be acted upon, save it be by the punishment of the law at the great and last day, according to the commandments which God hath given.

I hope you all have a good week!
